How we do it
Curtains, taken down and rehung
Most people never clean their curtains because getting them down is the hard part. On request the rider takes them down and rehangs them on return. Linings and blackout backings are cleaned to a method that will not shrink them away from the fabric face — the usual reason curtains come back hanging short.
Carpets and rugs, dusted before they are washed
A carpet holds more dry soil than water-based cleaning can lift, so it is dusted first and shampooed second. Fringes and edges are finished by hand, and dust-mite treatment is included rather than sold as an extra.
Duvets, quilts and winter bedding
Washed, dried thoroughly through the filling rather than just the cover, and returned vacuum-packed so they go away for the season taking up a fraction of the space.

Do you take the curtains down yourself?
Yes, on request — and rehang them when they come back. Mention it in the booking notes so the rider arrives expecting it.
Will my curtains shrink?
Not when the method matches the fabric, which is why they are assessed before cleaning rather than after. Lined and blackout curtains in particular are handled so that face and lining do not shrink at different rates.
How long do carpets take?
Three to five days, most of which is controlled drying. A carpet returned before it is fully dry is how smells start.
Can you collect something heavy from an upper floor?
Yes. The rider comes to the flat, not the gate, and carries it down.
